Charles's translator, a tall man around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old. He has been translating for Charles since his arrival. He is arrogant and disdainful, especially toward Song Jinyue. He deliberately omits parts of what Charles says when translating, such as apologies. He irritates easily around Song Jinyue and is suspected by officials of mistranslation.
