Also known as Brother Lu or Lin'er, the eldest young master and Li Changche's older brother by two years. He is described as frail and pale, born prematurely and weak since infancy. He suffers from persistent coughing, especially in winter, and has never fully recovered despite medicine. He is handsome but thin and appears much frailer than his actual age. He lives with his mother Wen Xian in the warm climate of Hejian and rarely ventures beyond inner courtyards. He is kind-hearted, having defended Li Changche against his mother's whipping, and accepted the elixir pill from Li Changche despite his mother's distrust.
