A member of the Armed Detective Agency, known for being strict, short-tempered, and organized. He assigned the Jekyll and Hyde serial killer case to Dazai. He carries a notebook and is easily frustrated by Dazai's laziness. He had previously saved a girl named Kōda Aya during a subway attack, to whom she confessed. He suspected Dazai was slacking off when Atsushi returned alone.
