The eldest son of Grand Princess Zhaoming and a prominent political figure. He killed the late emperor, forged an imperial edict to become regent, killed many royal family members and ministers, and dismantled the Eastern and Western Factories, leaving only the Jinyiwei under his control. He died of illness in the winter of the sixth year of Yongchang.
