He suffered injuries that dropped his mental power to A-rank and developed mental power disorder, a common illness among soldiers that prevents mecha piloting and can cause suicidal tendencies. He retired with honorary rank and was hesitant to apply but was welcomed by Yan Shaonan despite his condition.
