Jiang Li's biological father, a temporary worker who came to the city from the countryside. He fawned over Chen Lin (the original owner's mother) to get promoted, with help from his father-in-law who made him a regular worker and workshop director at the Beijing Machinery Factory. He has little affection for his biological daughter Jiang Li and favors his illegitimate children Jiang Wan and Jiang Chengye. He is thrown and beaten by Jiang Li when he comes to confront her.
