Jiang Li's 12-year-old younger brother. Thin, wary, and covered in mud from working at sea. He is extremely protective of his sister Xiaoman and initially suspects Jiang Li of being a child trafficker or spirit. He grips a sickle for protection, sleeps on firewood, and is severely malnourished. After seeing Jiang Li eat, he trusts her and helps around the house. In the original story, he buried Xiaoman after her death from fever and later drowned at sea.
