Also known as Lord Jiang, he is the Deputy Commissioner of the Three Bureaus (the Department of Finance), essentially a vice-chancellor managing the nation's finances. He is the father of Jiang Mingwei and the adoptive father of Mu Mingtang. He agreed to adopt Mu Mingtang as a substitute for his missing daughter.
