Deceased character. Ji Changqing's father. He placed third in the imperial examinations. He defied his father Ji Hongde by insisting on marrying Madam Qi, nearly severing ties with his family. He requested a transfer to Jiangzhou after marriage. He died of plague after following the late Crown Prince to combat floods and aid victims in Jiangzhou when Madam Qi was pregnant with Changqing.
