Also referred to as Uncle Xu, he is Ding Hong's sworn brother of a different surname. He is a hunter who is often away from home for more than half of every ten days during hunting season. His eldest son is the one betrothed to Ding Baozhu. He caught the pair of wild geese among the betrothal gifts.
