The deceased husband of Gu Qiaoqiao and father of her eight children. He was conscripted into the army three months into his wife's pregnancy and died in battle when their youngest daughter was one year old. He had earned military merit, and his compensation amounted to twenty-one taels of silver. His grave is located down the mountain from where the main confrontation takes place.
