He is dressed in black robes embroidered with fine golden thread patterns and wears leather bracers. At this point in the story he appears around fourteen or fifteen years old (seven to eight years younger than his novel counterpart who was twenty-three). He can transform into a massive golden tiger and is described as the King of the Forest. He is curious about Su Mingyue's unusual ability to speak and understand human speech at such a young age.
