One of Chi Ning's godsons, known as the 'plum wife, crane son' Helang. He was once a struggling impoverished scholar with little talent for study or writing but possessed exceptional skill in painting people with realism that mainstream art rejected. Through Chi Ning's master Zhang Jingzhong, he presented his work to Emperor Tianhe and was admitted into the Imperial Painting Academy. He is now a court painter who quietly lives his life, painting assigned work and what he feels in his heart. He sends paintings to Chi Ning every year on birthdays and festivals.
