He Doudou's uncle, a lazy and greedy man who took in his niece after her parents died. He cheats on his wife with Widow Wang and plans to sell Doudou to an old bachelor. He is beaten by his wife after his affair is exposed and is eventually dragged out of the He family home by villagers.
