A young fish stall owner at the ferry market, a couple of years younger than Xie Yushu. He is dark-skinned, honest-looking, and from a poor fishing family in Qianwan Village. He is enthusiastic and confident about his knowledge of the area. His family rarely affords pork, eating mostly small unsold fish mashed into salty paste with plain rice. He has a little sister named He Xi. Xie Yushu uses a meat bun as a consultation fee to ask him about families who dry kelp and seaweed.
