The eldest son of the Gu family and Wen Nuan's husband, a soldier who rose to the rank of captain. He is upright, kind-hearted, and loyal, having married Wen Nuan despite his mother's opposition after she staged a suicide attempt by jumping into a river. He split his military allowance to support Wen Nuan due to her poor relationship with his mother. In the original plot, he severely injured boys who bullied his disabled daughter, becoming a labor reform criminal and losing his dream of becoming a pilot. He later died while trying to be a good Samaritan. He is soon to be transferred from the provincial military unit to the Northern City military district.
