Antagonist, Shen Qinghe's former fiancé (also spelled Gu Linchuan in text). Served in the army as a deputy company commander. His father was the driver for the Lin family. He and Lin Yingxue grew up knowing each other. He faked impotence after marriage to keep Shen Qinghe while remaining chaste for Lin Yingxue. He stole Shen Qinghe's jade thumb ring and gave it to Lin Yingxue. He set Shen Qinghe up in a psychiatric hospital. He is cold and calculating, using Shen Qinghe for social advancement while loving Lin Yingxue.
