Male lead, Jiang Hongguo's husband. Originally an educated youth who preferred studying over farm work and insisted on sleeping separately for a year of mourning. After a year apart, he returns transformed: physically muscular, aggressively passionate, capable of twisting a chicken's neck, eating enormous quantities of meat, and performing feats of strength like reinforcing a bed and moving it alone. He appears attentive and caring but exhibits inhuman traits that unsettle his wife.
