One of the two teachers of the imperial princes in the Imperial Study. He was exceptionally talented in both Manchu and Chinese learning but was rigid and upright, refusing bribes and being extremely strict with the princes. Yinzhen particularly liked him, which displeased the Crown Prince. He wrote commentary on Yinzhen's homework.
