Ruan Tang's grandmother, the only remaining family member. She raised Ruan Tang after her parents died when Ruan Tang was three and her grandfather died the next year. Despite village criticism advising her to drown Ruan Tang, she chose to raise her strongly. She sends dried fruits, preserved vegetables, dried daylily flowers, and dried bamboo shoots from her hometown to Ruan Tang in Wanghai City every year. She wants Ruan Tang to study hard and come to the city to live a good life.
