Gao Zhuo, also known as Captain Gao, is the battalion commander and a male character. He was extremely proud of Lu Zecheng, who was his most outstanding soldier. When Lu Zecheng was injured and doctors said he couldn't be cured, Gao Zhuo was so anxious he almost attacked the doctor. He was furious upon learning that Lu Zecheng's non-biological parents abandoned him during his injury. He approved Lu Zecheng's extended leave to rest and spend time with Xia Ning'an. He and his wife consider Lu Zecheng as family and were delighted by his recovery. He received a box of rare Ganoderma lucidum from Lu Zecheng and was advised on how to use it. He praised Xia Ning'an as a good partner.
