Also referred to as Granny Gao and Old woman. She is Wang Shan's stepmother and the cruel matriarch of the Wang family. She embezzled the five taels of silver compensation meant for Wang Shan's medical treatment. She refuses to help the injured Wang Shan, slaps young Wang Zhuangzhuang, and insists on severing family ties. She is manipulative and uses her Third Son's upcoming imperial exams as justification for her cruelty.
