Fu Jianhua is Fu Jingyao's grandfather, who made a deal with an old Taoist to save his wife Zhang Wenxiu by promising Fu Jingyao's marriage to the Taoist's disciple. He is pragmatic, values family promises, and encourages Fu Jingyao to find and bring back his fiancée.
