An elderly villager in his early seventies who is healthy and strong despite his age. He raises water buffalo and delivers fresh buffalo milk to Xia Wu's family every morning. He has two sons and two daughters but lives largely alone as his children have moved away. His daughter Sister Hong married someone from Bayang Gully and died in childbirth. His daughter Sister Yan left with her husband who worked on ships. His eldest son works in Dongshi and has a falling out with his younger brother. He is described as lonely but energetic, with more vitality than many younger people.
