A scholar deeply devoted to Buddhism who, according to a story told by Huo Qinghong, preached the Dharma among the people. An emperor of that time despised Buddhism and ordered Fa A-men's hands, feet, and tongue cut off, eyes gouged out, before putting him to death. The temple was named after him.
