The village party secretary's grandson, a young man of about sixteen or seventeen who drove the mule cart. He was not very talkative but helped explain that much of the luggage were heirlooms from Yin Xiaoman's parents. He accepted a warm cornmeal steamed bun from Yin Xiaoman.
