The aging emperor of the Great Qi dynasty, also referred to as Master Huang by Xi Hongrui. He is defiant and rebellious in his old age, having grown bored with smooth rule. He insisted on elevating a lowly maid to imperial concubine and planned a spectacular ceremony including carrying her across the Phoenix Welcoming Stage, defying all court officials who protested collectively.
