She has a soft spot for Ye Anling and intentionally challenged Ye Chutang to a poetry and calligraphy competition to embarrass her, believing the countryside woman only had a pretty face. She placed a golden hairpin as a prize and later a violet jade bracelet for the music competition. She was deeply frustrated when Ye Chutang won and wished she could tear her face apart.
