A retired instructor from the police academy and lifelong friend of Chen Hexing. He is described as someone all of Jiang Xiaoci's brothers fear most. He is sharp and observant, discovering the fighting groups hiding behind the crumbling wall near the abandoned lot. He rounds up the troublemakers and sends them all to write self-reflection reports at the Victory Police Station, scolding them fiercely for almost fighting until someone was bleeding. He kindly lies to Jiang Xiaoci, telling her he found two stray dogs fighting instead of the group of young men, and advises her to head home for lunch.
