A wealthy student from Jiangnan who becomes Shen Qingsong's deskmate and first customer. He is from a rich family and his father advised him to be polite and generous at the Imperial Academy to make useful connections. He is easily impressed by food and wealth, and immediately prepayss seven strings of copper coins for a month of breakfasts from Shen Qingsong. He is somewhat naive and flustered when Zhou Tianang's fortune-telling draws attention to Shen Qingsong's hidden food. He lives far away in Jiangnan and is envious that Shen Qingsong can walk home daily.
