Male, also referred to as Dr. Shire. An Antarctic scholar who was initially scheduled to set off with Jiang Si's group in the morning. He was puzzled by the fireworks being set off. He discovered Reese's room full of armed men and was threatened, tied up, and thrown in a corner. He pleaded with Jiang Si not to abandon them after the battle. He tried to intervene when Jack was beaten by the crew.
