She raised Tang Mi after the girl's parents were unavailable. She attempted to have Tang Mi feign illness to avoid the palace summons but ultimately accompanied her granddaughter to the palace. She bribed Liu Gonggong with a pouch of money and a bracelet to secure an audience with the Empress. She instructed Nanny Gui to seek out Old Madam Jun at the Duke Rong's residence if they did not return by dawn.
