A disfigured old man who previously picked up Zhou Ye and the other educated youths and brought them to the Educated Youth Spot. When Zhou Ye encountered him at the cowshed, the old man threw cow dung at her with eyes full of disgust, as if looking at her once more would make him kill her. He seems to have a strong hostility toward Zhou Ye, though she does not know who he is.
