A frail clerk at the Yixian county office. He is lazy and rude initially, refusing to help when Han Mu and Gu Junruo arrive. He claims the magistrate is not in charge and the office handles no matters. After learning Han Mu is the new magistrate, he becomes subservient and apologetic. He later helps introduce Zhao Yuan to the new magistrates.
