A frail young man from Siam (Thailand) who drifted to Dazheng on a piece of floating wood after his ship sank in a hurricane. He comes from a long line of sailors. He could not understand the language of the Xu family members and was confused when they spoke to him. Xu Sinan was able to communicate with him using the foreign language skills she had learned.
