Also called Brother Dan, he is Gu Qingyan's old friend who works as a deputy director at the capital city's Public Security Bureau. He is older than Gu Qingyan, with dark skin and white-streaked hair. He is married to Cui Ling and has at least three children including youngest son Shan Hongyang.
