Dai Changhai is an elderly man, the father of Dai Bing and Dai Lei. He and his wife have spent years searching for their missing daughter Dai Bing. They live in a modest tile-roofed house with two thatched huts. Despite their poverty and the abuse from their son Dai Lei, they remain loving and desperate to reunite with Dai Bing. They are grateful to Su Ai and the officers for finding their daughter.
