Qin's mother, also referred to as Lanfang. She is frail and sickly, suffering from chronic lung deficiency and cough compounded by worry and depression. After receiving news of her eldest son Qin Dalang's death and the compensation money, she fainted. She is deeply devoted to her children and reluctant to spend money on her treatment, wanting to save it for Qin Rongshi's studies.
