Male, Cosimo's father. He took over a crumbling mafia empire in Sicily around spring 1988. He was ambushed by enemies and stumbled into the hotel where Cosimo's mother was staying. He fell in love at first sight with the gentle but brave Eastern woman. He fabricated an urgent need for a Chinese translator to keep her around, but she had a fiancé back in China. Furious, he eventually imprisoned her on the island and forced her to stay.
