Also known as Cairen Luo Shi, she is a Cairen from a scholarly family. She is skilled in calligraphy and painting, having been taught by a great scholar hired by her father. She presented an Ink Peony painting at the flower appreciation banquet, using only varying shades of ink. Her temperament is described as cold and aloof, which the Empress Dowager and Emperor both find unappealing. She is proud of her painting skills but was deeply wronged when the Emperor called her work unimpressive, causing her to burst into tears.
