Also known as Captain Fang and Fang Jianshe. He is a colonel in the military district and the brother of Fang Man. He is married to Sister Fang and is the father of Xiao Mingming. Initially spoiled his sister, but after Sister Fang's ultimatum and Fang Man's guilty silence, he decides to send Fang Man back to her hometown to preserve his marriage. He feels mixed emotions, realizing too late the hardships his wife endured.
