The father of Chu Yu and Chu Xun. He is an adventurer who traveled the world with Qin Jinhe. He had little interest in business, preferring art and freedom. He abandoned young Chu Yu along with Qin Jinhe, entrusting him to Chu Yaonian. He feels guilty toward Chu Yu but has spent more time with Chu Xun. He is more considerate than Qin Jinhe during family interactions.
