A pale thirteen- or fourteen-year-old boy, the younger brother of Chu Linzhang. He is described as timid and frightened. His mother, Madam Chu Fifth, manipulates him into helping Chu Linzhang by appealing to his sense of family duty, suggesting that sacrificing their eldest brother is acceptable to save their sick younger brother.
