Chi Yao's father who remarried after Chi Yao's mother passed away early. At first he cared for Chi Yao, but after his new wife (the stepmother, originally the mistress) influenced him through pillow talk, he eventually stopped caring and left Chi Yao to fend for himself. He never came to claim Chi Yao's body after his death.
