Three orphaned brothers surnamed Chen who bully Jiang Pan Yu throughout her childhood at the orphanage. Jealous of her academic success, they steal her household registration and sign her up for rural assignment without her knowledge. Jiang Pan Yu retaliates by sending complaint letters detailing their misdeeds, leading to their harsh deployment to northern Shaanxi and the southwest. They physically assault her, causing the head injury that triggers her memory recovery.
