Chen Liping's father and Qiao Qingqing's maternal grandfather. He was a renowned red capitalist in Shanghai, serving as chairman of Yinchang Medicine and vice-chairman of the Federation of Industry and Commerce. He dedicated himself to the revolutionary cause but was wounded during the war. His health never fully recovered and he passed away relatively early. Before his death, he entrusted Chen Liping with the most important asset of the Chen family - an underground storage containing precious antiques, calligraphy, and a key to overseas bank money.
