A commander among the Eight Commanders of the Tang Army who was closest to Li Shimin. He was the husband of Princess Pingyang, Li Shimin's elder sister. He refused to abandon Li Shimin and exerted every effort to rendezvous with him, providing cover and protection during the retreat.
