Former chief steward of Cheng Guang Hall who had served the Late Empress and later the Crown Prince for many years. He was demoted to the Imperial Stables after an error during the Qian Yuan Terrace sacrificial rites where all prepared livestock fell ill and died overnight. He was punished by Prince Chen and sent to lead horses and hold stirrups.
