Du Damei's mother-in-law who is abusive and takes advantage of her daughter-in-law. After a fall, she suffers a fractured spine and becomes permanently paralyzed, unable to walk or sit up. She spends her time wailing, cursing, and complaining in bed. She wets the bed and is left alone without care.
