Also referred to as Brigade Commander Zhao, he is a commanding officer at the 310th Military Unit Command Headquarters. He is Song Shiyan's superior and Zhao Xiaoling's father. Initially reluctant, he eventually signs Song Shiyan's marriage application and grants him 20 days of marriage leave. He disapproves of his daughter's obsessive behavior and tries to steer her toward Battalion Commander Jiang instead. He is worn out by Song Shiyan's pestering but ultimately yields.
